Hawaii State Junior Golf Association (HSJGA), the top youth golf tournament organizer, and First Tee Hawaii, a nonprofit that makes golf affordable and accessible for all kids.
“We have a compelling vision to make golf more accessible for youth while maintaining the fun, competitive atmosphere that allows us to inspire confidence and better prepare keiki for the future,” said Mary Bea Porter-King, president of the board of directors, HSJGA and First Tee Hawaii.
In January 2021, HSJGA and First Tee Hawaii established a partnership to grow the game of golf in Hawaii and deepen its impact on local youth. HSJGA, primarily known for its competitive programming and pathway to college for Hawaii’s junior golfers, will now offer developmental opportunities through First Tee Hawaii. Under the leadership of HSJGA, First Tee Hawaii will continue to introduce keiki to the game of golf while seamlessly integrating life skills curriculum to create learning experiences that build inner strength, self-confidence and resilience.
